GIKI Admission Test Syllabus & Structure
The Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI) runs its own admission test for its BS Engineering and Computing programmes. It is the shortest paper of the engineering tests covered here at 80 MCQs, and it is the one that does not end with the test: shortlisted candidates are called for an interview before a final offer.

What this means for how you prepare
- Maths and Physics are evenly weighted and together make up 75% of the paper — there is no dominant subject to prioritise over the other.
- There is no Chemistry, so pre-engineering candidates coming from ECAT prep can drop it for GIKI.
- English is a full quarter of the paper — proportionally more than in the UET ECAT (10%) — so it deserves genuine attention.
- No negative marking: attempt everything.
- Clearing the test is not the last step. Shortlisted candidates face an interview, so prepare to talk about why engineering and why GIKI.
