Central Induction Policy — Merit Criteria (January 2027 Induction)
The Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department notified the scoring criteria for January 2027 induction and onwards on 21 August 2026, after the Post-Graduate Admission Committee meeting of 20 August 2026. Merit is out of 100: PGET carries 75% and the remaining 25 points come from your undergraduate record and house job.

What was removed
- MDCAT marks and FCPS-I/JCAT marks, which counted under the 17 March 2026 policy (a 30-mark formula), no longer count.
- The university-positions category was raised from 3 to 5 marks.
- Positions must be university-level: college-level positions do not count.
Frequently asked questions
Is the merit score out of 100?+
Yes. PGET carries 75 and the 25-point block carries the rest: aggregate 15, university positions 5 and house job 5.
Are Islamiat and Pakistan Studies marks included in the aggregate?+
Yes. The aggregate uses the marks of all professionals, including Islamiat and Pakistan Studies.
Does a college position count?+
No. Only positions held at the university level count.
