UHS PGET — Eligibility & Induction
These are the eligibility and pre-qualification conditions in the Punjab Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department notification of 21 August 2026 for January 2027 induction onwards. A pass in PGET is itself one of the pre-qualifications.
Eligibility reported for the current cycle
- An MBBS or BDS degree from an institution recognised by PMDC.
- A certificate of completion of 12 months of mandatory house job from a PMDC-recognised institute.
- A valid PM&DC permanent practising licence.
- A pass result in the Postgraduate Entrance Test (PGET).
- Age below 40 years on the last date for submitting the application.
- Punjab domicile for open merit and disability quota seats.
- Provisional licence or exit exam from the medical council of the country of origin where the candidate graduated (foreign graduates).
- For foreign candidates, an NOC or study visa from the Ministry of Interior, Government of Pakistan, or an NOC from the Home Department.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a house job to sit PGET?+
Yes. A completed one-year house job in a PM&DC-recognised hospital is listed in the eligibility criteria.
Is PGET needed for FCPS?+
It is required for induction into Level III postgraduate programmes, which include MD, MS, MDS and FCPS, under the Central Induction Policy.
