Engineering entry-test prep in Pakistan is crowded, and much of it is free. The real question is what a paid bank adds. Here is how the main options compare.

How we compared: details come from each product’s own website and app listings, checked in October 2026. Figures are the providers’ own claims and can change at any time. We are a competitor, so check each site yourself before you decide.

Maqsad

  • A learning platform for MDCAT, ECAT, BCAT and O Level, with chapter-wise MCQs, video lectures, live ECAT classes, full-length timed tests and adaptive practice.
  • Has pages for NUST NET (200 MCQs: Mathematics 100, Physics 60, English 40) and other university tests.
  • Offers a free web app, a paid mobile app and paid batches.

Free MCQ Sites

Sites such as PakLearningSpot, QuizWing, Apna MCQs, PAKTIK, MCQUniverse and CoreMCQs offer free MCQs, past papers and mock tests for ECAT, and some offer NUST-style mocks, including memory-based questions. Quality and accuracy vary from site to site, and explanations are often short or missing.

HighYield

  • ECAT: questions across Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and English, tagged by past-paper year, each with a written explanation. We check our answers against the published solved papers.
  • NUST NET: Mathematics, Physics and English questions matching the official NET-Engineering weighting, plus two full 200-question, 3-hour mock exams (100 Mathematics, 60 Physics, 40 English). See our NUST NET guide.
  • Tutor and timed modes, analytics, and 20 free questions with no account needed.

Why Accuracy Matters More Than Question Count

Headline question counts are self-reported, and a bigger number says nothing about whether the answers are right or the explanations teach anything. A single wrong answer key can cost you marks on exam day, and a very low price is not evidence of a better bank. Before you pay for any platform, open a few questions on topics you know well, check the answers against a textbook, and read the explanations. Our banks are built around that standard: original questions, checked answers and a written explanation for every question.

How to Combine Them

  1. Learn the concepts from your FSc books, a class or lectures.
  2. Use free sites for extra volume, but double-check any answer that looks odd.
  3. Use an explained bank to find and fix weak topics, then sit timed mocks in your last weeks. See tutor mode vs timed mode.
