Several newer FCPS Part 1 platforms lead with AI tutors, spaced repetition and predicted pass scores. Here is a plain comparison of what they say they offer and how HighYield’s approach differs.

How we compared: details come from each product’s own website and app listings, checked in October 2026. Figures are the providers’ own claims and can change at any time. We are a competitor, so check each site yourself before you decide.

What Each Platform Says It Offers

PrepFCPSPaper I and Paper II mocks in CPSP format, explanations citing textbooks, spaced repetition for missed questions, weak-area drills, an AI tutor, a readiness score. Covers 11 specialties.
Part1PKExpert-verified MCQs, past papers, analytics with percentile ranking, custom mocks, an AI assistant and study planner.
NextStepMDPositions itself as an FCPS, PGET and JCAT QBank. Its site did not load detailed information for us.

What HighYield Offers

  • A separate bank for each FCPS specialty: Medicine and Allied, Surgery and Allied, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, Radiology, Anaesthesia and Dentistry, plus FCPS IMM Medicine, each with thousands of questions in the larger banks.
  • Original questions written to the FCPS style, rather than relying on recalled papers, which can be incomplete or wrong. Read why we do this.
  • A written explanation for every question, including why the wrong options are wrong.
  • Tutor and timed modes, subject-wise practice and analytics.
  • A free sample of 20 questions per bank, no account needed.

Why Accuracy Matters More Than Question Count

Headline question counts are self-reported, and a bigger number says nothing about whether the answers are right or the explanations teach anything. A single wrong answer key can cost you marks on exam day, and a very low price is not evidence of a better bank. Before you pay for any platform, open a few questions on topics you know well, check the answers against a textbook, and read the explanations. Our banks are built around that standard: original questions, checked answers and a written explanation for every question.

How to Choose

  1. Try the free tier of two or three platforms and judge the explanations on topics you know well.
  2. Check that your own specialty is covered in depth, not just the shared basic-sciences paper.
  3. Treat any predicted pass score as one signal, not a guarantee; full-length mocks matter more. See FCPS Part 1 pass rate tips.
