Free OET Sample Test for Doctors (Medicine): Try a Listening Practice Test
Try a free OET sample test for Medicine online: a listening practice test with explanations, how practice and exam modes differ, and how to use your result.

Not sure what the OET Listening sub-test is really like? The quickest way to find out is to sit a practice test. HighYield has a free OET sample test for doctors: a Medicine listening practice test you can try in your browser without paying.
What is in the free listening test
Listening Test 1 is free to open with no payment. It follows the layout of the real OET Listening sub-test, where Part A is consultation extracts with note completion, Part B is short workplace extracts, and Part C is longer recordings such as interviews or presentations. The full-length tests inside the practice area each have 42 questions in total; Test 1 is a shorter sample so that you can see the format, hear the recordings and check how the marking works before you decide on more practice.
Practice mode and exam mode
- Practice mode: you can replay each recording, which is useful when you are learning the question types.
- Exam mode: each recording plays once, like the real test, so you can check your speed and concentration.
How the marking works
Listening answers are marked automatically, with an explanation for each one. In the real test your correct answers out of 42 are converted to a score out of 500, with 30 out of 42 corresponding to 350 (grade B). Our guide to OET grade B explains the scale.
How to get the most from a practice test
- Do the first test in practice mode and read every explanation, including the ones you got right.
- Note the type of error: a missed number, a spelling slip, a distractor, or simply not hearing the word.
- Sit the next tests in exam mode and keep a record of your scores.
- Pair your listening practice with the OET listening tips for doctors.
