CSS MPT Result 2026–27: How to Check by Roll Number & CNIC

The CSS MPT (Mandatory Professional Test) is the first screening hurdle every CSS candidate must clear before sitting the written exam — and its result is a distinct result from the main CSS written result. This guide explains how to check your CSS MPT result and what happens next, for both the 2026 and 2027 cycles.

How to Check Your CSS MPT Result — Step by Step

1. Visit fpsc.gov.pk — FPSC publishes all CSS results, including the MPT, exclusively on its official website.
2. Open the "Results" section from the main menu.
3. Select the CSS MPT result for the relevant year and consolidated advertisement.
4. Enter your Roll Number or CNIC — both work for the CSS MPT result lookup.
5. Click Search — your status will display immediately.

Warning: never trust WhatsApp forwards or unofficial pages claiming to have your CSS MPT result early. Only www.fpsc.gov.pk is authoritative.

What the CSS MPT Result Shows

The MPT is a screening test, so your result will show Qualified or Not Qualified for the next stage — the CSS written examination. It does not carry forward into your final CSS merit list the way written-exam and interview marks do.

When Is the CSS MPT Result Usually Announced?

Historically, FPSC has announced CSS MPT results within 4–6 weeks of the test date. FPSC does not publish exact result dates in advance, and timelines can shift between cycles, so treat this as a rough planning window rather than a fixed date — check the official CSS advertisement on fpsc.gov.pk for the current cycle's schedule.

If You Qualify in the MPT

Qualifying in the MPT means you can now sit the CSS written examination — the much longer and more heavily weighted stage. Use the weeks between your MPT result and the written exam to:

• Lock in your compulsory and optional subject choices
• Start — or intensify — past-paper practice for your optional subjects
• Keep your general knowledge and current affairs current, since these resurface throughout the written papers

If You Are Not Qualified

A Not Qualified MPT result means you cannot proceed to the written exam for that cycle. Before assuming how this affects your remaining attempts, check the current year's official FPSC advertisement directly — whether an unsuccessful MPT attempt is counted toward your overall CSS attempt limit has been clarified differently across past notifications, and FPSC's wording for your specific cycle is the only reliable source on this.

Either way, use the time before your next opportunity to strengthen your weakest MPT section. The MPT draws heavily on General Knowledge, Islamiat, English, Mathematics and Urdu — the same five subjects covered in HighYield's CSS MPT QBank, so you can practice exactly where you lost ground.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does MPT stand for in CSS?

Mandatory Professional Test — a screening exam conducted by the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) before the main CSS written examination.

Can I check my CSS MPT result by CNIC instead of roll number?

Yes. FPSC's results portal accepts either your Roll Number or your CNIC.

How long after the MPT is the result announced?

Typically 4–6 weeks, based on past cycles. FPSC does not pre-announce exact dates, so confirm the current cycle's timeline on fpsc.gov.pk.

Does the MPT result affect my final CSS merit?

No. The MPT is pass/fail only — it determines whether you proceed to the written exam, but its marks are not added to your final merit list.

Is the CSS MPT result the same as the CSS written result?

No — they are announced separately and months apart. See our CSS Result guide for the written and final-result stages.
