UET Merit List 2024 and Aggregate Calculator: How UET Merit Is Calculated
How the UET aggregate is calculated for ECAT admissions, the UET merit calculator formula, historical UET merit list 2024 closing aggregates, and how to estimate your chances.
How UET Admission Merit Is Calculated
Admission to all undergraduate engineering programmes at UET Lahore and affiliated UET campuses is based on a calculated aggregate score. The UET aggregate combines your Matric result, FSc Pre-Engineering result, and ECAT score using a fixed weightage formula.
UET Aggregate Formula
- Matriculation (SSC): 10% weightage
- FSc Pre-Engineering (HSSC): 50% weightage
- ECAT score: 40% weightage
Formula: UET Aggregate = (Matric% x 0.10) + (FSc% x 0.50) + (ECAT% x 0.40)
Example: Matric 85%, FSc 80%, ECAT 75% = (8.5) + (40) + (30) = 78.5% aggregate.
UET Aggregate Calculator / Merit Calculator
The UET aggregate calculator applies the formula above. To use the UET merit calculator:
- Convert your Matric total marks to a percentage
- Convert your FSc total marks to a percentage
- Convert your ECAT score to a percentage
- Apply the formula above
Candidates also use the online aggregate calculators on the UET official website. Always double-check manually.
UET Merit List 2024
The UET merit list 2024 showed approximate closing aggregates at UET Lahore main campus:
- Electrical Engineering: 83-86% aggregate
- Civil Engineering: 80-83% aggregate
- Mechanical Engineering: 80-84% aggregate
- Computer Engineering: 82-85% aggregate
- Chemical Engineering: 78-82% aggregate
- Petroleum and Gas Engineering: 75-80% aggregate
Actual closing merit varies year to year with applicant numbers and ECAT difficulty. Merit at UET Taxila and newer campuses is generally 3-7% lower than UET Lahore for the same programme.
UET Peshawar Merit List
The UET Peshawar merit list is published on the UET Peshawar website after ECAT results. Closing aggregates at UET Peshawar are typically 70-80% for competitive programmes. The merit list is released in rounds as candidates confirm or decline their seat offers.
How to Improve Your Merit Position
Because ECAT carries 40% of the UET aggregate, it is the most improvable component. Every additional 5% in your ECAT score translates to a 2% improvement in your overall aggregate. For candidates on the margin between two programmes or campuses, this is decisive.
