UET Campuses in Pakistan: Taxila, Peshawar, Mardan, Narowal & MNS UET Multan

A complete guide to all UET-affiliated engineering campuses in Pakistan - UET Taxila, UET Peshawar, UET Mardan, UET Narowal, and MNS UET Multan - covering programmes, fees, admissions 2025, and logos.

The UET Network Across Pakistan

The University of Engineering and Technology brand in Pakistan extends well beyond the flagship campus in Lahore. Several independently chartered engineering universities carry the UET name or were established as offshoots of UET Lahore, and there are additionally several engineering universities with entirely separate identities that are sometimes grouped alongside UET institutions. This guide covers the main UET-brand institutions and their key details for prospective students.

UET Taxila

UET Taxila (University of Engineering and Technology Taxila) is located in Taxila, Punjab, approximately 40 km from Islamabad. It is one of the most well-regarded engineering universities outside the major metropolitan centres, and its proximity to Rawalpindi/Islamabad makes it a popular choice for students from the twin cities, Hazara, and Azad Kashmir.

UET Taxila offers undergraduate programmes including Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering. Like UET Lahore, admission is through ECAT merit.

The UET Taxila fee structure is comparable to UET Lahore - tuition per semester in the range of PKR 30,000-50,000 depending on the programme. The UET Taxila LMS and admissions portal are accessible through the official website at uettaxila.edu.pk.

UET Peshawar

UET Peshawar (University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar) is the premier engineering university of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, located in Peshawar. It is the oldest engineering institution in KPK and serves as the engineering university of choice for students across the province.

UET Peshawar offers programmes in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, and several other disciplines. UET Peshawar admission 2025 follows the same ECAT-based merit process as UET Lahore, though UET Peshawar uses the KPK Board results for calculating aggregate and may hold its own entrance component.

The UET Peshawar fee structure for 2025 follows the public university fee scale - approximately PKR 25,000-45,000 per semester. The UET Peshawar logo uses green and white - the provincial colours of KPK - with the university name in English and Urdu and the official seal.

The UET Peshawar merit list for each year's admissions is published on the official website (uetpeshawar.edu.pk) after the ECAT result is declared. First, second, and third merit lists are typically released in August-September.

UET Mardan

UET Mardan is a campus of UET Peshawar established in Mardan, the second largest city in KPK. It extends engineering education access to students from Mardan, Swabi, Malakand, and surrounding districts who would otherwise have to travel to Peshawar.

UET Mardan offers a subset of the programmes available at the main Peshawar campus, primarily Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Admission is through the same ECAT merit process as UET Peshawar. The campus has grown significantly since its establishment and now has permanent academic and residential infrastructure.

UET Narowal

UET Narowal is a sub-campus of UET Lahore, established in Narowal district in northern Punjab to extend quality engineering education to students from the Sialkot, Gujranwala, and Narowal divisions who might not secure seats at the main Lahore campus.

UET Narowal primarily offers undergraduate programmes in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Engineering. Admission to UET Narowal seats is through the UET Lahore ECAT merit process - students who apply to UET Lahore and list Narowal as a preference may be allocated seats there based on merit. The campus operates under the academic and administrative oversight of UET Lahore.

MNS UET Multan

MNS UET Multan (Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Engineering and Technology Multan) is an independent engineering university in Multan, Punjab, named in the UET tradition but separately chartered. It is the main engineering university serving students from southern Punjab - Multan, Bahawalpur, DG Khan, and surrounding districts.

MNS UET Multan offers undergraduate programmes in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and several technology programmes. Admission is through ECAT merit. The university's website is mnsuet.edu.pk.

For students from southern Punjab, MNS UET Multan offers the UET-standard engineering education without the need to relocate to Lahore, making it a strong first-choice institution for the region.

Which UET Campus Should You Choose?

The choice between UET campuses largely comes down to merit score, programme preference, and location. UET Lahore has the highest merit for all disciplines and the most established reputation. UET Taxila and UET Peshawar are strong alternatives with solid industry recognition, particularly in their respective regions. UET Mardan, UET Narowal, and MNS UET Multan are excellent choices for students from those catchment areas who want publicly funded engineering education close to home.

Whatever campus you are targeting, your ECAT score is the single biggest lever you have to improve your chances of admission to your preferred programme. Practise on HighYield's ECAT QBank - 565+ MCQs from past papers with full explanations, free to start.
