PPSC Roll Number Slip & Admission Letter: How to Download (2026)

Step-by-step guide to downloading your PPSC roll number slip and admission letter in 2026. When they become available, what they contain, and exam day essentials.

Your PPSC roll number slip (also called the admission letter) is your entry ticket to the examination hall. PPSC will not allow you to sit the test without it. This guide explains when and how to download it, what information it contains, and exactly what you need on exam day.

Roll Number Slip vs Admission Letter — What Is the Difference?

PPSC uses both terms, and they can mean different things depending on context:

  • Roll Number Slip: The document you download before the screening/written test. It contains your roll number, test date, time, and exam centre address.
  • Admission Letter: Typically used for the interview stage — it confirms your interview date, time, and venue after you have been shortlisted from the written test. Some candidates also refer to the test roll number slip as an admission letter.

In practice, both are official PPSC documents that grant you entry to either the test centre or the interview venue.

When Is the Roll Number Slip Available?

PPSC typically uploads roll number slips 7–14 days before the test date. The exact date is announced through:

  • A notice on the PPSC website homepage
  • The PPSC Annual Planner (tentative dates)
  • SMS notification to your registered mobile number (not always reliable)

Tip: Start checking the PPSC website daily from 3 weeks before your expected test date. Do not rely solely on SMS — check the website yourself.

How to Download Your Roll Number Slip

  1. Go to www.ppsc.gop.pk
  2. Look for "Roll Number Slip" or "Download Slip" on the homepage (it is usually prominently displayed when available)
  3. Enter your CNIC number
  4. Click "Search" or "Download"
  5. Your roll number slip will appear — print it on A4 paper

How to Download Your Admission Letter (Interview Stage)

  1. Visit www.ppsc.gop.pk
  2. Go to "Admission Letter" or "Interview Schedule" section
  3. Enter your CNIC or roll number from the screening test
  4. Download and print the letter — it shows your interview date, time, and PPSC office address

What Information Does the Roll Number Slip Contain?

  • Roll number: Your unique exam identification number
  • Name and father's name: As entered in your application
  • CNIC number
  • Position applied for: With advertisement number
  • Test date and time: Usually the test starts at 10:00 AM
  • Exam centre: Full name and address of the building
  • Your photograph: The one you uploaded during application
  • Special instructions: What to bring, what not to bring, reporting time

Troubleshooting Common Issues

  • Slip not showing when you search: PPSC may not have uploaded slips for your specific position yet — different positions within the same time period may have different upload dates. Check daily.
  • Wrong exam centre: You cannot change your exam centre after allocation. Contact PPSC's helpline only in exceptional cases (medical emergency, security situation).
  • Photo mismatch: If the photo on the slip does not match your current appearance (e.g., you now wear glasses or have a different hairstyle), bring your original CNIC for identity verification.
  • Name spelling error: If your name is misspelled on the slip, bring your original CNIC to the exam centre. Inform the invigilator before the test starts so they can note the correction.

What to Bring on Exam Day

  • Printed roll number slip — absolutely mandatory
  • Original CNIC — for identity verification at the gate
  • Two extra passport-size photographs — some centres attach photos to the attendance sheet
  • Black ballpoint pens — at least 3 (MCQ sheets require black pen)
  • Pencil, eraser, sharpener — for rough work

What NOT to Bring

  • Mobile phone: Strictly prohibited — even carrying a switched-off phone can result in disqualification. Leave it at home or in your vehicle.
  • Smart watch or any electronic device
  • Bags, books, or notes
  • Calculator — unless specifically permitted in the instructions

Exam Day Strategy

  • Arrive 60–90 minutes early: PPSC centres close gates 15–30 minutes before the exam. Late arrivals are turned away — no exceptions.
  • Visit the centre beforehand: Go to the exam centre the day before to know the exact location, parking, and entrance.
  • Stay calm and pace yourself: Read every question carefully. For MCQs, eliminate wrong options first. Flag difficult questions and return to them after completing the easy ones.

In the final days before the exam, do light revision and MCQ practice on HighYield rather than cramming new material. A rested, confident mind performs far better than an exhausted, anxious one. Good luck.
