PMDC NRE Mock Test: Free 200-Question Timed Practice Exam

The PMDC NRE Step 1 theory exam is 200 computer-based, single-best-answer MCQs in 3 hours 30 minutes, weighted roughly 70% clinical sciences and 30% applied basic sciences, with one mark per correct answer and no negative marking. The passing score is 60%. That weighting matters for how you prepare: a candidate who only revises basic sciences (anatomy, physiology, pharmacology in isolation) is studying for a smaller exam than the one they'll actually sit.

It also means pacing is unforgiving in a specific way — 200 questions over 210 minutes gives you almost exactly one minute per question, and clinical-vignette-style questions (the kind that dominate the 70% clinical portion) take longer to read than a one-line fact-recall question. If your practice has been untimed, or timed but broken into short blocks, you won't know until exam day whether your reading speed on a dense clinical stem holds up for three and a half hours straight.
