NUMS Registration Guide: How to Register, Log In, and Apply
A step-by-step guide to NUMS registration - eligibility, how to create your NUMS login, required documents, entry test registration, deadlines, and common mistakes to avoid.

Registering for NUMS is a separate process from provincial MDCAT registration (UHS, KMU, etc.), and many first-time applicants get tripped up by that distinction. This guide walks through how to register, log in, and manage your NUMS application from start to finish.
Before You Register: Eligibility
To register for NUMS medical/dental admissions, you generally need:
- FSc Pre-Medical (or equivalent) with the minimum required marks specified in that year’s prospectus
- A valid CNIC or Form-B
- Domicile and other documents as specified by NUMS for your applicant category
Requirements can change slightly each year, so always check the current NUMS prospectus on the official site before applying.
How to Register for NUMS (NUMS Register / NUMS Login)
- Go to the official NUMS website at nums.pk. Do not use unofficial mirrors or third-party portals.
- Find the admissions section for the current academic year and click through to the online application/registration portal.
- Create your candidate account (this is the “NUMS login” / “NUMS log in” account you will reuse throughout the process) using your CNIC, email, and a mobile number for verification.
- Fill in your personal, academic, and domicile details exactly as they appear on your official documents.
- Upload required documents — typically your Matric and FSc result cards, CNIC/Form-B, a recent photograph, and domicile certificate.
- Pay the application fee through the payment method specified on the portal (bank challan or online payment, depending on the year).
- Submit and download your confirmation for your records.
Once registered, use the same NUMS login for every later step — selecting your test centre, checking your result, and tracking merit lists.
NUMS Entry Test Registration
If your admission cycle requires a NUMS-specific entrance test (rather than relying solely on the national MDCAT), the test registration is usually completed within the same portal after your initial application is accepted. You will typically select a preferred test city/centre and receive a roll number slip closer to the test date. For how the entry test and the national MDCAT relate to each other, see NUMS entry test vs MDCAT.
Registration Deadlines: Don’t Miss the Window
NUMS registration typically opens a few months before the test/admission cycle and closes several weeks before it. Historically, registration for a given cycle has opened in the mid-year months and closed before the test date, with occasional short extensions. Because the exact dates shift year to year, set a reminder to check the NUMS website as soon as your FSc results are declared, and do not wait for a fixed date from memory or a previous year.
Common Registration Mistakes to Avoid
- Registering on the wrong site. Only nums.pk is official - always verify the URL.
- Mismatched personal details. Your name, CNIC, and other details must exactly match your official documents, or you risk rejection or issues at the interview/verification stage.
- Missing the fee deadline. An incomplete application (registered but unpaid) is usually not processed.
- Losing your login credentials. Save your NUMS login details securely — you will need them repeatedly through results and merit lists.
What Happens After You Register
After registration closes, NUMS processes applications, confirms your test centre (if applicable), and later publishes your result and aggregate. From there, merit lists are released in rounds. See our guide on NUMS results, roll number slips, and merit lists for the full next-steps process.
Prepare While You Wait
The period after registration and before your test is exactly when focused MCQ practice pays off most. Use HighYield’s MDCAT QBank to drill past-paper-style questions with detailed explanations, and track your progress by subject so your remaining weeks are spent where they matter most.
