ETEA Merit List 2026: How to Check KPK Medical, Engineering & Jobs Merit Lists
How ETEA merit lists are prepared for KPK medical colleges, engineering universities, and government jobs — where to check, when they are published, and how your aggregate is calculated.
After your ETEA result is announced, the next critical step is the merit list — this determines whether you get the seat or job you applied for. This guide explains how ETEA merit lists work for medical admissions, engineering admissions, and job recruitment in KPK.
What is an ETEA Merit List?
An ETEA merit list is a ranked list of candidates who are eligible for a seat or position, based on their combined aggregate score. For academic admissions, the aggregate combines your Matric marks, FSc marks, and ETEA test score. For job recruitment, it is typically based on your ETEA test marks alone (or combined with qualifications).
Being on the merit list does not guarantee admission or appointment — it means you are in the pool from which selections are made, subject to seat availability and your rank position.
ETEA Medical Entry Test (MET) Merit List
For KPK medical college admissions through KMU (Khyber Medical University) and affiliated colleges:
Aggregate Formula for Medical Admission
| Component | Weightage |
|---|---|
| Matric (SSC) Marks | 10% |
| FSc Pre-Medical Marks | 40% |
| ETEA Medical Entry Test Score | 50% |
Example: Matric 90%, FSc 85%, ETEA 80% → Aggregate = (90×0.10) + (85×0.40) + (80×0.50) = 9 + 34 + 40 = 83%
Where to Check the KMU/Medical Merit List
- First merit list: published on the KMU website (www.kmu.edu.pk) and individual college websites after ETEA results
- ETEA website (www.etea.edu.pk) also links to merit lists after publishing results
- Multiple merit lists are published (1st, 2nd, 3rd merit list) as seats fill up and upgrades happen
ETEA MET Merit List — What It Shows
- Candidate name and roll number
- Matric marks, FSc marks, ETEA score
- Combined aggregate percentage
- Merit position (rank)
- Allocated college (if seats have been assigned)
Typical Closing Merit for KPK Medical Colleges
These are indicative figures based on recent years — actual merit varies each year:
- Khyber Medical College (Peshawar): Closing merit typically 85%+ aggregate
- Ayub Medical College (Abbottabad): Typically 82–84%+ aggregate
- Saidu Medical College (Swat): Typically 80–82%+ aggregate
- Gomal Medical College (D.I. Khan): Typically 78–81%+ aggregate
- Woman Medical College (Abbottabad): Check separately — female-only seats
ETEA Engineering Entry Test (EET) Merit List
For admission to UET Peshawar and affiliated engineering colleges in KPK:
Aggregate Formula for Engineering Admission
| Component | Weightage |
|---|---|
| Matric (SSC) Marks | 10% |
| FSc Pre-Engineering Marks | 40% |
| ETEA Engineering Entry Test Score | 50% |
Where to Check Engineering Merit Lists
- UET Peshawar website: www.uetpeshawar.edu.pk
- ETEA website (www.etea.edu.pk) for the initial eligible candidate lists
ETEA Jobs Merit List
For government job recruitment tests conducted through ETEA, the merit list process works differently:
- ETEA announces test results with marks on www.etea.edu.pk
- The hiring department (not ETEA) publishes the final merit list on its own website or notice boards, based on ETEA scores plus any additional weightage for qualifications or experience
- Candidates on the merit list are called for document verification at the department's HR office
- After document verification, eligible candidates are called for an interview (if applicable)
- Final appointment letters are issued by the department
For teacher jobs under KPESB, merit lists are typically available on the KPESB website (www.kpesb.gov.pk) as well as ETEA's site.
What to Do If You're Not on the Merit List
- Check the upgraded merit list: As selected candidates confirm or decline seats, merit lists are upgraded. Many candidates get seats through 2nd or 3rd merit lists — do not give up after the 1st list.
- Open merit vs. reserved seats: Confirm you checked both the open merit list and any reserved category list (female, minority, disabled, district quota) you may qualify for
- Apply to other institutions: Private medical and engineering colleges in KPK may have different criteria — check their admission requirements
- Plan for next year: If this was your first attempt, use the experience to prepare more thoroughly for the next cycle
