Your ECAT result page typically includes:
- Your name and CNIC number
- Roll Number
- Total score out of 100
- Subject-wise scores (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English) — in some years, UET shows the breakdown; in other years, only the total
- ECAT percentile or rank (shown in some years)
- Whether you are eligible for Phase II (if Phase I result shows below a threshold, Phase II is still open to all registered candidates)
UET Lahore ECAT Phase II Result
UET ECAT is held in two phases. Phase II is important for students who:
- Missed the Phase I test date
- Were not satisfied with their Phase I score and want to improve
- Received their FSc results after Phase I (and couldn't submit marks earlier)
Phase II results are typically announced 1–2 weeks after the Phase II test. The process to check is identical — go to www.uet.edu.pk, enter your CNIC or roll number, and view your score.
Key rule: If you appeared in both Phase I and Phase II, UET uses your better score for merit calculation. There is no penalty for sitting both phases.
What Score Do You Need on ECAT?
There is no fixed "pass mark" for ECAT — admission is purely merit-based. Your score is used to calculate your merit aggregate alongside your Matric and FSc marks (10%–40%–50% formula). However, as a practical guide:
- Below 50/100: Very unlikely to get a seat at UET main campus, Lahore. Consider other campuses or private universities.
- 50–65/100: Possible for UET sub-campuses (KSK, Taxila, Faisalabad, Narowal) and less competitive departments.
- 65–75/100: Competitive for UET Lahore main campus, especially Civil, Architecture, Chemical Engineering.
- 75–85/100: Strong position for most UET Lahore departments.
- 85+/100: Competitive for Electrical, Computer, and Mechanical Engineering — the most sought-after departments.
These are indicative ranges and change each year based on the applicant pool. Check the previous year's closing merit list on the UET website to calibrate expectations.
After Getting Your ECAT Result — What to Do
- Calculate your merit aggregate using the 10–40–50 formula (Matric 10% + FSc 40% + ECAT 50%)
- Check last year's closing merit for each UET department and campus to see where you are competitive
- Apply for UET admission through the UET admissions portal — the window usually opens shortly after Phase II results
- Apply to backup universities simultaneously — COMSATS, FAST-NUCES, NED, BUITEMS, and other universities have their own tests or use their own criteria
- If unsatisfied with your score, consider Phase II (if Phase I is done and Phase II is still upcoming)
