Are There Official SMLE Past Papers?

No. SCFHS draws SMLE questions from a large, continuously refreshed item bank rather than releasing fixed past papers the way some national exams do. Any PDF circulating online claiming to be "official SMLE past papers" or a leaked "SMLE exam questions PDF" should be treated with caution — SCFHS explicitly prohibits reproducing or distributing exam content, and outdated recalls can teach you the wrong emphasis for the current blueprint.

What SCFHS does offer officially is an SMLE mock practice examination, built to resemble the real blueprint and sampled from the same item bank. If you want a single practice sitting that mirrors the actual exam experience, that is the legitimate source — check the SCFHS website for current availability.

Why Recalled "SMLE Exam Questions PDF" Files Are Risky

• They go stale. The SMLE blueprint (Medicine 30%, Ob/Gyn 25%, Paediatrics 25%, Surgery 20%) and the item bank itself are both reviewed and updated, so a recall set from a few cycles ago may no longer reflect current emphasis.
• They are unverified. A candidate's memory of a question stem is rarely word-for-word accurate, and an incorrect "recalled" answer key can actively teach you the wrong fact.
• They skip explanations. A bare question-and-answer list with no rationale does not build the clinical reasoning the SMLE actually tests — it just tests recall of that one specific recalled question, which will not be on your paper.

What Actually Works: Structured MCQ Practice

Since the SMLE tests applied clinical reasoning through patient-scenario questions across four core disciplines, the most reliable preparation is high volume, well-explained MCQ practice weighted the same way the exam is:

• Medicine and Ob/Gyn/Paediatrics together carry roughly 80% of the exam — concentrate the bulk of your question volume there rather than spreading evenly across all four.
• Work in timed blocks that mirror the real exam's pacing, not untimed reading, so exam-day time pressure is not a new experience.
• Read every explanation, including on questions you got right — the reasoning is what transfers to the next, differently worded question on the same topic.

SMLE Exam Centres for Pakistani Candidates

The SMLE is delivered at Prometric-authorised test centres both inside Saudi Arabia and at select international locations, and availability of a Pakistan-based centre can vary by testing window. Check the current list of approved centres directly on the SCFHS/Mumaris Plus portal when you book — do not assume a centre used in a previous cycle is still active.

How to Prepare for the SMLE: A Practical Timeline

1. 8–12 weeks out: Work through content in Medicine, Ob/Gyn, Paediatrics and Surgery in that rough order of priority, using tutor-mode MCQs so you get the explanation immediately after each question.
2. 4–6 weeks out: Shift to mixed, interleaved practice across all four disciplines rather than one subject at a time — this is closer to how the real exam mixes topics.
3. Final 2 weeks: Run full-length timed blocks to build stamina for the real sitting, and revisit only the topics your accuracy data shows are weakest.
