NUST NET Complete Guide: Eligibility, Syllabus & Test Format

NUST (National University of Sciences & Technology) doesn’t rely on ECAT or a shared provincial test for its engineering admissions — it runs its own entry test, commonly called NUST NET (NUST Entry Test). What Does NUST NET Actually Test?

For engineering admission, NUST NET covers four subjects:

• Physics — FSc Pre-Engineering syllabus, with a strong emphasis on numerical/conceptual problem-solving
• Mathematics — algebra, calculus, trigonometry, and coordinate geometry at FSc level
• Chemistry — physical, organic, and inorganic chemistry from the FSc syllabus
• English — grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension

This is a distinct test from NUST’s Computer Science entry test, which carries its own separate subject mix — don’t assume the two overlap just because both are run by the same university.

Test Format

NUST NET is a multiple-choice, computer-based test conducted at NUST’s own test centres.
