NLE Exam Dates 2025 and 2026 Pakistan: Schedule, Registration and Latest News

Up-to-date information on NLE exam dates in Pakistan for 2025 and 2026, how PMDC announces the schedule, registration deadlines, and what to do while you wait.

How PMDC Announces NLE Exam Dates

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) does not publish a fixed annual calendar for the National Licensing Examination. Instead, it announces each examination window through its official website and a notification published in national newspapers. Dates for registration, hall ticket download, and the examination itself are all issued together in this notification.

This means the most reliable way to stay informed is to check the PMDC website regularly and follow PMDC's official social media accounts. Third-party websites and Facebook groups that claim to post NLE dates are often working from rumour; always verify directly with PMDC before making travel or leave arrangements.

NLE Exam Schedule Pattern

Historically, PMDC has conducted NLE sessions multiple times per year - typically two to four windows annually, spread across the calendar to give candidates flexibility. Step 1 and Step 2 sessions are usually announced separately. There is no fixed month in which either step must be taken; candidates apply when they are eligible and a suitable window opens.

NLE Exam Dates 2025

PMDC has been actively working to increase the frequency of NLE sessions in 2025 in response to the large number of MBBS graduates awaiting registration. For the most current confirmed dates for 2025, visit the official PMDC portal at pmdc.gov.pk. Notifications are typically issued four to six weeks before the examination date, with registration closing two to three weeks prior.

If you are preparing for an upcoming 2025 window, the time to start your MCQ practice is now - not after the notification drops. Candidates who begin preparing six to eight weeks before the exam consistently score higher than those who cram in the final two weeks.

NLE Exam Dates 2026

PMDC has not yet published the 2026 NLE schedule as of the time of writing. Based on previous patterns, announcements for early 2026 sessions are expected in late 2025 or the first quarter of 2026. Subscribe to PMDC notifications and check back on the official website regularly.

What to Do While Waiting for Dates

The wait between completing your MBBS or house job and the next available NLE window is not downtime - it is preparation time. Use it strategically:

  • Identify your weak subjects. Run a diagnostic quiz across Step 1 or Step 2 topics to find where your knowledge gaps are before you commit to a study plan.
  • Work through past papers. NLE past papers tell you exactly which topics PMDC prioritises. Work through them with the explanations turned on so you understand the reasoning behind each answer.
  • Build your QBank habit. Aim for at least 40-50 MCQs per day. Consistent daily practice over eight weeks is far more effective than marathon study sessions in the final few days.
  • Simulate exam conditions monthly. Once a month, sit a full timed mock paper. This maintains your stamina and gives you a progress benchmark.

Registration Process Recap

When a date is announced, move quickly - registration windows close fast. You will need: your MBBS degree certificate, official transcripts, your national identity card (CNIC), and a recent passport-size photograph. All documents are submitted through the PMDC online portal. Pay the fee through the designated online gateway and download your roll number slip once your application is processed.
